The Professional Cookery Certificate is a yearlong programme which consists of 6 months theory and practical training and 6 months’ work experience. During the 6 months spent at the institute learners will study food production as well as other knowledge and skills to ensure a successful career as a chef. After completion of exams and practical lessons the learners will be interviewed and placed in various hotels where they will complete the workplace component of the programme. They will have to complete their logbooks which documents their duties and tasks completed during this time. After the learners have completed their work place experience they will return to the institute to complete their remaining work and modules.
The Certificate: Events Support is a yearlong programme which consists of 6 months theory and practical training and 6 months’ work experience. During the 6 months spent at the institute learners will study event planning, coordinating, set up and break down, food and beverage, legislation, budgeting, etc. as well as other knowledge and skills to ensure a successful career as an event coordinator. After completion of exams and practical lessons the learners will be interviewed and placed in conference centres or hotels where they will complete the workplace component of the programme. They will have to complete their logbooks which documents their duties and tasks completed during this time.
Our short courses can run from 1 day- 1 month. Topics covered include: pastry, cake decorating, different cuisines etc. Courses depend on demand. If you have a group of atleast 5 people, a short course or lesson can be arranged.
